Presenter Biographies (Partial Listing)

RABBI YISROEL FABIAN, MS, CPC is one of Orchos Chaim's founders and Roshei Yeshiva. He studied for many years under great Torah scholars, among them Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg, shlita and Rabbi Shlomo Wolbe, z?l, and has maintained a very close relationship for over 20 years with Rabbi Noah Orlowek, shlita. Rabbi Fabian holds a BA in Economics and Political Science, a Master's degree in Psychology, is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and a Certified Gottman Educator (CGE). He is a trained therapist, has worked for the OU counseling clinic in Jerusalem and maintains a private counseling and coaching practice. Rabbi Fabian is the creator of "Even Higher: The Jewish Marriage Workshopİ". This workshop combines classic Jewish wisdom, with modern research and knowledge. He will be presenting and incorporating pieces of this workshop in his talks over the retreat weekend.

RABBI YITZCHAK SCHWARTZ is one of Orchos Chaim's Roshei Yeshiva. After making aliyah in 1974, he studied in prominent yeshivos, including fifteen years as an advanced scholar at Yeshiva Torah Ore. He received rabbinic ordination from the Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg, shlita and Rabbi I. Kulit zt''l, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. Rabbi Schwartz has served as moshgiach of Torah Ore and as a community rabbi in Seattle, Washington before founding Yeshivos Orchos Chaim in 1993 together with Rabbi Fabian. Rabbi Schwartz is the guiding force behind the Pathways kiruv program and a dynamic speaker who has inspired Jews around the world. His dedication to Torah and his students is unbounded.

RABBI SHIMON RUSSELL, LCSW is a licensed and certified Social Worker who maintains a private psychotherapy practice with offices in Lakewood and Brooklyn. He studied in Yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel and Beis Medrash Gohova in Lakewood, where he received semicha from the late Rosh Hayeshiva Rabbi Shneur Kotler zt''l. A board member of Nefesh, The International Network of Orthodox Mental Health Professionals, he co-chaired a conference sponsored by Nefesh and Ohel Children's Home on Children in Crisis in the Orthodox Community and is the co-author of Chlidren in Crisis. He is a much sought after, dynamic and entertaining speaker.

RABBI DOVID HOCHBERG, MSW is the Director of the Maryland Counseling Network and a licensed psychotherapist in private practice. Rabbi Hochberg received his Rabbinical Ordination from HaRav S. Yaakov Weinberg, zt''l, (Ner Israel - Baltimore) and his Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland. He has authored parenting and relationship articles for local publications, National Council of Young Israel's Viewpoint magazine, Aish Hatorah, and Torah.org, and has been featured on a Jewish radio program in Chicago. Rabbi Hochberg is also a Certified Instructor for the nationally acclaimed Torah Umesorah F.E.L.T. Parenting Course.

DR. CINDY WARD SANDLER is an experienced, licensed psychologist. She received her Ph.D. in 1979 from the University of Maryland. Over the years, Dr. Sandler has worked in different arenas in psychology and has loved them all. She has provided counseling for children, adolescents and adults, conducted workshops, and worked in treatment centers for emotionally disturbed adolescents. Currently, she has a private practice providing psychoeducational testing for children and adolescents. Dr. Sandler's testing is the foundation upon which parents and teachers can better help children learn and to help them be the best they can be. Dr. Sandler is a popular public speaker on a multitude of topics including: brain functioning, learning, child development, testing, and strategies for teachers, among many others. Dr. Sandler also co-hosted "The Learning Connection", a radio talk show sponsored by the Weinberg Academy. She is currently writing a book about ways to help children maximize their potential.
